First Press Operator

<undefined>First Press Operator<br></undefined>Performs manual and machine operator tasks in the setup, maintenance and operation of a printing press and related equipment. Interprets written and verbal instructions. Performs or directs press setup and adjustments to the press throughout the production run to meet qualitative and quantitative standards. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Responsible for daily press records. Under the direction of the Printing Unit Leader, supervises, instructs, and assists printing personnel. Performs other job-related duties as required.A High School Diploma or GED is required. Seven years of full time paid experience operating a press is required. (Substitution: successful completion of an accredited postsecondary program in printing equipment operation will substitute for two years of experience.) A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required. Proficiency with a variety of printing equipment including both single color sheet-fed and multicolor presses is required. Must be knowledgable of all major printing processes including plateless and nonimpact printing. Must have a thorough understanding of print shop safety practices. Must be able to lift and carry approximately 60 pounds.
