Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.It’s important to know that:<ul><li>Flight dispatching impacts flight success: You play a vital role in making sure flights take off safely and on time by coordinating with pilots, monitoring flight conditions and managing operational control.</li><li>Operations move quickly: Expect a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment due to changing operations.</li><li>Collaboration is essential—but so is independence: You’ll mostly work alone, but you will always have your team and supervisor available for your assistance.</li></ul>Key duties:<ul><li>Share responsibility with pilots for flight safety under a Type A Operational Control System.</li><li>Develop, review, authorize, and revise Operational Flight Plans alongside the Pilot In Command.</li><li>Conduct Operational Flight Watch, assess safety-impacting changes, and communicate updates to pilots.</li><li>Analyze operational conditions affecting flight performance, including weather, facilities, and Air Traffic Control.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Aircraft Operating Manual, Minimum Equipment List, Flight Dispatch Manual, and regulations.</li><li>Provide pilots with real-time updates necessary for safe flight operations.</li><li>Maintain expertise in airports, runways, airways, and navigational aids for assigned areas, including the Flight </li><li>Dispatch Manual, Flight Operations Manual and Jeppesen Enroute and Airport Charts.</li><li>Communicate flight plan requirements to Air Traffic Control Services.</li><li>Monitor and provide flight crews with up-to-date operational field condition reports.</li><li>Collaborate with Chief Duty Dispatcher and System Operations Control on flight operations and incident management.</li><li>Perform duties prioritizing safety, compliance, and effective communication.</li><li>Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Air Canada Flight Dispatchers are required to be qualified in accordance with CAR 705 and CASS 725; </li><li>Must be at least 21 years of age;</li><li>Must Have Transport Canada exams FDOPS and FDMETS completed and active; </li><li>Hold a Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical (ROC-A); </li><li>Have a current valid passport; </li><li>Good decision-making ability in high pressure situations; </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively; </li><li>Capable of working under pressure without close supervision; </li><li>Experience with conflict resolution and problem solving;</li><li>Good communication skills, verbal and written;</li><li>Proficiency with PC (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint an asset;</li><li>Post secondary education is an asset; </li><li>Previous airline operational experience, an asset. </li><li>Candidates must be available for shift work in a 24/7 operational environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays;</li><li>Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards through a medical examination;</li><li>Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibly of the candidates applying for this position.</li></ul>BenefitsWhat’s in it for you?<ul><li>Financial benefits: Pension program, Employee Share Ownership Program, and Profit Sharing.</li><li>Wellbeing & health benefits: Health, dental, and life insurance for you and your family (if necessary).</li><li>Recognition: Air Canada’s recognition program (Shine) allows you to recognize and be recognized for those outstanding moments.</li><li>Travel privileges: A generous employee travel program for you and other eligible once you have completed twenty-eight (28) weeks of service.
