Job Description:

  • Identify, communicate, and advance key regulatory initiatives to support the Company’s strategic regulatory objectives
  • Collaborate with state teams and regulatory stakeholders to advocate favorable outcomes, monitor regulatory developments, and shape effective strategies
  • Facilitate and promote regular interactions between Company representatives and regulatory stakeholders
  • Advocate for favorable regulatory outcomes through strategic engagement and messaging
  • Develop and execute initiative-focused communications with regulatory stakeholders
  • Participate in and assess the effectiveness of regulatory communications and strategies
  • Support development and maintenance of strong relationships with key individuals in regulatory agencies and trade organizations
  • Track and evaluate regulatory outcomes from jurisdictions the Company operates in
  • Develop responsive strategies to address regulatory challenges and opportunities
  • Educate state regulatory leaders on emerging regulatory trends and collaborate on state-specific strategies
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency in regulatory messaging and initiatives
  • Promote effective communications at industry conferences and forums
  • Represent the Company in external meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements
  • Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues in regulatory strategy and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead and manage projects, facilitate meetings, and prepare exhibits and testimony to support regulatory initiatives
  • Provide technical solutions and analysis on national issues
  • Prepare communications that respond to requests from commissions or comply with regulatory needs
  • Provide research and comparative analyses of complex public utility issues, trends and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 6 years prior experience in the utility industry and/or shared service or multi-company corporation
  • Seasoned professional
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
