<p><strong>Customs Entry Writer | Air & Ocean Import Operations | International Freight Forwarding</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Cranford, NJ</p><p><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $60,000 to $70,000 base</p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full Time</p><p><strong>Work Model:</strong> Hybrid, 3 days in office / 2 days remote</p><p><br></p><p>An international freight forwarding and customs brokerage organisation is seeking a <strong>Customs Entry Writer</strong> to support high-volume import operations in Cranford, New Jersey.</p><p><br></p><p>This role is responsible for the accurate preparation, submission, and compliance of U.S. customs entries across air and ocean freight shipments. The position requires strong regulatory knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time-sensitive clearances in a fast-paced forwarding environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Prepare and file customs entries in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations</li><li>Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy and completeness</li><li>Classify goods using HTS codes and calculate duties, taxes, and fees</li><li>Coordinate customs releases, exams, and holds with CBP, carriers, and internal teams</li><li>Maintain compliance with Partner Government Agency requirements when applicable</li><li>Track clearance status and provide updates to operations and customers</li><li>Maintain accurate audit-ready documentation and entry records</li><li>Support import operations teams to ensure on-time cargo release</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Experience & Profile</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Minimum 2+ years of customs entry writing or import operations experience</li><li>Strong working knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and clearance procedures</li><li>Experience with HTS classification, ACE/ABI systems, and customs documentation</li><li>High attention to detail with strong organisational skills</li><li>Ability to manage volume in a deadline-driven environment</li><li>Strong communication skills across internal teams and customers</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualified professionals are encouraged to apply directly or confidentially express interest.
